David McCarthy is the founder and CEO of McCarthy Merchant Capital LLC (MMC), showcasing a distinguished 30-year track record of success. His extensive portfolio, exceeding $300 million in financings, underscores his instrumental role in the establishment and growth of two companies, one of which achieved the esteemed status of a NASDAQ-listed public entity.

Mr. McCarthy's foray into corporate financing began in 1993 when he co-founded Zanett Securities Corp., a boutique investment bank. Serving as principal until 2003, he facilitated capital raising for small and mid-cap public companies in the public markets, assuming roles as a manager or lead investor in over 70 financings. McCarthy notably collaborated closely with multiple public companies that later surpassed a market capitalization of $1 billion.

In 2000, he co-founded and took public Zanett Inc., an IT roll-up. McCarthy led the acquisition of five regional IT companies, successfully consolidating diverse corporate cultures within the Zanett platform. As CEO, he guided Zanett's growth from a startup to achieving $50 million in revenue, with a NASDAQ-listed market capitalization exceeding $100 million. McCarthy retired from Zanett in 2006, and the company was eventually acquired by KPMG in 2014.
Beyond his financial sector achievements, Mr. McCarthy co-founded StableUSD, an early digital stablecoin linked to the US dollar, presently trading on the Binance Exchange. Despite his departure before implementing the full development plan for the currency, the knowledge and experience gained in building a collateralized digital coin and launching it on the Binance Exchange remain invaluable.
In 2015, McCarthy transitioned to consulting, providing guidance to a group of entrepreneurs engaged in the acquisition and revitalization of bankrupt Eastern Appalachian coal mines. Over a six-year involvement in the energy/mineral industry, McCarthy collaborated extensively with alternative lenders.
